Southern Chronic Illness Links Network is a service agency that looks after people with complex chronic conditions who require support and information. Our services aim to empower people to become proactive self managers in partnerships with their care providers. We provide a range of integrated services that enable consumers and providers to work collaboratively to positively manage care working towards achieving good health outcomes.

Community Access Phone Lines (one to one)
    Mon - Fri 10am - 3pm
As this service is Australia wide and we currently have one phone line, you may not get through the first time. Please leave a message or call back later.
Café Clubs & Monthly Educational Groups  
    Our groups are for people to network, access information, learn from each other and make new friends in an informal setting. Everybody is welcome so come along and introduce yourself. For latest timetable

Teleconference Groups  
    Weekly telephone link-ups for housebound and socially isolated people - all you need is a telephone.
These groups are one of our most successful activities for people with chemical sensitivities (MCS) and fatigue issues so we are hoping to grow in this area in the future.
Website and Email requests
    Although the internet provides a wealth of information regarding chronic conditions it is important to be aware that some of it is untested and may not be appropriate for you. To help you we provide email correspondence for specific questions. This service is popular but still in its infancy. Your emails will contribute to its development. We will interact in conversation style.

Peer Mentoring/peer support (one to one)
    Our Network provides peer mentoring, phone and face to face support, educational and sharing activities to help people better manage their conditions and to limit social isolation.
An unexpected outcome of our training has been that our volunteer and peer mentoring programs have become a pathway to employment. We are working towards accredited training programs including TAFE, Online, and University Fieldwork etc.
Phone a Friend Link-ups - 3 monthly Contacts
    Some of our isolated clients request regular contact. This is a special confidential list of people who receive a phone call or phone us at regular intervals.
Telelink Teleconference Groups  
    Weekly telephone link-ups for housebound and socially isolated people - all you need is a telephone!
Volunteer Work Program
    Most of our services are provided by our loyal volunteers as part of their study programs, work re entry pathways or Centrelink obligations. Opportunities include administration, computer skills, writing, advocacy and health promotion. We also need a fundraiser and grant writer. If you have these skills we would be keen to hear from you.
Chronic Condition Management Training Programs (CCSM)
    Our programs are part of the National Chronic Disease Initiative, designed to inform you with life style and self management skills. Courses are always being quality improved. If you know of programs locally or overseas that are helpful for pain or chronic condition management please let us know as we are always looking to provide Australians with the best quality programs available.
Fibromyalgia and ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Self-Management Toolkit Programs
    We hold a variety of 3 hr workshops or 6 and 8 week problem solving and interactive programs. There are waiting lists for both day and evening courses. Please contact us for a timetable.
Fibromyalgia, Persistent Pain and other Syndromes Education Workshops
    We have a great panel of speakers; medical, other health professionals and peer educators who will come to groups or hold sessions locally.
